Weeping Moss

Description

Weeping Moss earns its name from the way its stems naturally grow downward in soft, trailing arcs—like underwater willow branches. This dramatic, draping style makes it a favorite for bonsai-style tree builds, moss walls, and adding motion to hardscape layouts. Compared to Java Moss, Weeping Moss grows more vertically (or rather, downward), with a slightly darker green hue and a more elegant, structured feel.

It’s excellent for shrimp tanks, too—offering both cover and surface area for biofilm to grow.

Care and Planting Directions

Weeping Moss is easy to attach to hardscape using thread, mesh, or glue. It prefers low to moderate lighting and doesn't need CO₂, although extra nutrients and stable conditions will enhance its growth pattern. Trim regularly to encourage a dense, flowing cascade.
