Description
Monte Carlo (Micranthemum tweediei) is a favorite foreground plant for aquascapers looking for a lush, low-maintenance carpet. With its small, round leaves and creeping growth habit, it forms a dense, bright green mat that brings softness and structure to the front of your tank.
Unlike more demanding carpet plants, Monte Carlo is beginner-friendly—it doesn't need sky-high light or intense CO₂ levels to thrive (though both help). It’s ideal for nano tanks, Iwagumi layouts, or anywhere you want a vibrant green foreground.
Care and Planting Directions
Plant in small clusters using tweezers, spacing them out to encourage lateral spread. It grows best in medium to high light and with CO₂, but can still carpet slowly in low-tech setups. Trim regularly to maintain thickness and replant cuttings to expand coverage.
