Hatch N Feed Brine Shrimp Hatchery will allow you to feed your fish a delicious live food treat
will allow them to use their natural hunting abilities. The unit can be installed in
both Marine and Freshwater tanks. The Hatchery should be placed at a water level
location using the suction cup. Kit contains hatchery, measuring spoon, syringe,
cleaning brush, and airline tubing.
How it works: Place the brine shrimp eggs
and salt mixture (sold separately) in the designated chamber. The eggs absorb water and will
travel down into the hatching chamber. Eggs will begin to hatch within 18
to 24 hours. Hatched shrimp move up and down in the chamber with the water flow.
Then they gather at the border surface between the marine water and the fresh
water looking for slower water flow and preferable lighting. The brine shrimp
will stay in the distributing chamber for a while to get used to the fresh water.
Finally, they will swim out into the fresh water tank.
The entire sequence will take about 24 to 30 hours.
Includes:
hatcher, 40" of airline tubing, measuring spoon for salt/shrimp eggs,
cleaning brush, and holder with suction cup. Measures 2-1/4" x 4-3/4" x
8-1/4" high.
Requires a small air pump that will provide between 75-100 l/hr. For
freshwater aquariums, the addition of
aquarium salt to the Hatchery will be necessary.
